Is this the new 2025 R1200 G/S ?

It puzzles me that 20 years ago they managed a 200kg in the HP bike, so how they achieved that? The 1200GS was around 225kg.
Originally the 80gs was 185/190 kg?
HP2E 195kg wet weight, 175kg dry.
No doubt the extra weight is for Euro emissions, noise and safety gubbins.

With fuel, no doubt
Original G/S was about 170kg wasn’t it ?
What’s 60kg between friends ?
Johnny

The original g/s was advertised without a starter motor and large battery to keep the weight down. In reality they all had starters.

Those Bosch starters were seriously heavy

I am sure the 80 G/S were heavier than they stated on paper (mine was)
The new 12 G/S looks great and looking forward to seeing one at a dealers

For me, a lot of the very desirable links with its heritage come through mimicking the white / blue / orange paint scheme. I think the khazi brown scheme loses much of that.

That casting likely came from India or China.

:ROFLMAO:
The MCN mock up photo has a bit written at the bottom of the pic.... "BMW R12GS Parked off-road"
Just in case, when reading their article about a new BMW R12GS and seeing a picture,...I didn't connect the two and mistook said pic for something else......and also incase I mistook a dried mud track for Cadwell or similar. Fuck me....it really is The Beano of Biking.

MCN stands for More Crap (than) News…..
Was always so….only useful for putting in the bottom of a budgie cage imho

Were I buying a new GS it'd be one of these over a R1300. I wonder if it's going to affect 1300GS sales?
100% this. The 1300 GS is a ridiculous motorcycle, great for cosplay "adventurers" and flexing, but not for what it was originally designed for back in the day. This new G/S is still a bit too techy and no doubt expensive, but is a bit of a reset almost back to what a more rounded adventure motorcycle should be. all IMHO of course.

Interesting!

Rear shock looks like it might be giving the rider less of a spine jarring comfort levels, it is also a Marzocchi as are the forks (once upon a time I had a fork on my MTB by them). So BMW partnered with Italians. The phone mount is by SP connect. Personally (having had first hand experience) SP Connect is even worse than quadlock IMHO.
I really hope that rear indicators are just that and haven’t got the brake lights integrated into them.
Bike otherwise does look very nice.

I dropped into Halliwell Jones today

Excuse the really crap video with me mumbling (people were looking at me like a was a dick)
I really liked it in the flesh
