is this the new TOUR X ?????

I understood that Arai produces different head shapes for different markets?

In which case, a Japanese Tour X2 might be a different shape internally to a European one?

they do different shell sizes for helmet size, I think the tour-x has 2 or 3 shell outers for all their sizes,
not different shapes :blast

Some geezer on ADV posted that the head of Arai UK blokey clearly stated there are different internal head shapes for the Asian, European and USA markets.

Its pointless for either us to speculate, what we all need is PROOF :augie

I was told exactly the same thing by a UK Arai stockist.

Been told the same by more than one Arai dealer and by the UK distributors, on top f that factor you will have no warranty or backup from Arai Uk on a Japanese market helmet.

Walk away I say.

Heard the same thing too, cuz the nips heeds are different shape :nenau.

It looks the same as what was on show @ the NEC. The 2008 ones are the ones Ewan & Charlie wore on LWD with some of the graphics being reflective, and plain colours, white etc. are now very sparkly, almost metal flake in appearance. Mmmmmmmmmmm, Al av a Magma Red one please. :green grin

Look at the rip off prices we have to pay.

That is a dealer in Japan probably selling at full Japanese RRP ..

£199 vs our £349!!!

At £150 per unit ... there better be first class support and warranty back up!!!

It hasn't changed much has it? :(

Different colours, slightly redesigned spoiler, chin curtain and pinlock IIRC

Chin curtain - fit the Shoei XR1000 one, it goes on fine
Pinlock - there is apparently one that can be made to fit, or wait for the new visors to come out.

These were the only tangible improvements I could see, the rest of it is ass gravy as far as I'm concerned.

I concour!

I can confirm that the Japs have different shell shapes for the asian market.

I used to go to Tokyo quite a lot. They have a whole street dedicated to motorcycle shops in Ueno and one store,Corin has about 10 shops, with one being just for helmets on about 4 floors.

I bought the Shoei Hornet (equiv of of the Tour X) about 6 years ago.A friend bought an Arai R7XX Doohan rep for about £200-the same helmet didn't fit him in UK.
