Well it’s been a long weekend, riding firstly to Inverurie near Aberdeen to drop off the 1250 and then on to Forres to pick up the 1150. Stayed in Forres and then rode home via Loch Ness, Fort William and Loch Lommond. The weather has been sketchy on the return, we were in Scotland after all, but I have decided……I am an 1150 guy.
I’ve had a smile all day long, even when it’s been pissing down.
I forgot just how lovely these bikes are. The bikes a bit tatty now, and needs some love, but the motor is absolutely lovely (if somewhat wheezy). Overtakes need to be planned now (the 1250 was just a powerhouse of efficiency in forward motion), but the old girl fair scoots along and the motor is like a finely tuned precision watch. It just thrums along smoothly and at tickover it sounds like everything inside the engine is made of solid parts, something akin to an old stationary engine.
I feel like the gearbox might have a whine when you shut the throttle, but I’ll need to do a bit more riding to make up my mind if it needs full investigation.
I do feel thoroughly zen though, I am at peace with my being……. I am an 1150 guy
