It’s not a mini-cruise. It’s a fucking ferry - An X-rated ADVenture….

Great trip report on an area that’s a favorite of mine
I like your choice of hotels sadly my biker mates seem to prefer saving a couple of quid and choosing shit hotels despite my efforts to educate them!
Can’t understand some of the negative comments on a personal level sounds a lot like envy
Thanks for taking the time to post
Keep em coming!!

It’s funny, on here some folk, maybe myself included, can come across all wrong.

And yet upon meeting people from here, everyone without exception has been great.

Today being a classic example - all lovely people enjoying a day out (y)

Anyway, you owe me the cost of changing my insurance to a Supa Scoot now……..
I’ll drink to that

Some folk don't have much money

This chateau is €128 per night .
Bit more than a Formulé 1 but it’s a holiday FFS, not an endurance test !

It’s a kind of Greatest Hits tour visiting my three favourite hotels in Europe .
Numero uno was the Hotel Del Oso in the Picos . Number three tomorrow and number two on Monday
Bargain - imho ,, one has to pay stupid money now up here in Scotland for hotels that could be deemed average at best !
No pockets in shrouds ,,, glad you folks are having a good trip 👍👍👍👍👍👍

Formule” 1 are class.

You can tell by the accent on the “e”

@Arsey....thanks for sharing your journey with us, I've really enjoyed every posting

Serious question if I may..........are you running your Sat Nav from a switched power supply, maybe the bikes accessory socket or elsewhere...I want to utilise switched supply on my ADV350 with my Healtec thunderbox however routing the power cable is not straightforward

Any advice ? Thanks

I’ve got an Aoocci 3 just plugged in to an external USB point on the bars as couldn’t be arsed to remove all the plastics

Some folk don't have much money

they can still make a trip using the report as inspiration, just take a tent or use one of the modest pension type hotels you get in Spain for 40 euros a night with a 15 euro, 3 course set meal.

This place across the road from Canfranc Station is £35 a night https://maps.app.goo.gl/fo63w1MfFdnXQDiY9
You can still view the Estacion hotel and ride the roads.

On my trips I use a mix to even out the cost as @EVskiy suggests. I am in the Pyrenees later this year. I have booked half board in a parador, a night in an old monastery, some Logis hotels in the French bit. No idea of the average cost but half board ranges from 100 to 200 euros a night where I have booked that option. Cheapest room is £50 that I paid up front with Expedia reward points for the former monastery. I don't tend to use Ibis Budget hotels when solo travelling.

I will happily spend £150.00 a night in a nice Hotel in Scotland, as I believe memories are forever, money is for spending, live your life the best you can.
Comfort at the ripe old age of well......where a fart is included in rising from an early bed, means your well rested, ready for new adventures.
Fantastic images which will live on into the future for many others eager to adven-ture into the unknown.

Holidaying means freedom too enjoy, worry about finances some other day. :D

You nutter !
You’re supposed to PCP up to the max on a bike you can’t handle then stay in shite hotels and worry about your rented bike being nicked !
I read it here 🤔

Am too old to get PCP, can handle any bike within reason, £150.00 is a lot for me, but having lived in a truck 8 x 6ft for over 30 years, I think I deserve retirement with a bit of luxury now.

Mind you I do skimp on eating out, a fresh Sannie and a cuppa tea still does me, no fancy grub required, as long as there is ice-cream for afters, i'm content.

My bikes old like me but as much as I enjoy it's company, its still just a lump of metal and plastic.

Easily replaced with a modern scooter, I have been enjoying reading so much about. :D

If you take the battery cover off then at the lower left-hand side there is a hole that the leads can go down, as that's how I powered my Garmin sat nav. A tie wrap that's about 2 feet long does the job of pulling the cables along it to exit near to the horn. I found that the Thunderbox and leads made getting the cover on rather hard so drilled a hole and had the Thunderbox on the luggage side of the cover. Then you can have a charging point in the luggage bay as well quite easily. IIRC others have found a similar hole / tunnel on the right-hand side near to the fuse box.

I also swapped the three special bolts for standard ones to make getting the cover back on easier as well.
