So the new security barrier is up and running .All installed in one morning
Very few people use any locks on their bikes anyway .
Not one lock to be seen
The sticker sisters have just disc locks
I guess the new barrier is a help though in case some scrotes from nearby Grenoble got wind of this place .
Turns out the sticker sisters are a married couple in their 60s .
Fair play especially to the wife as they were getting a proper lick on yesterday .

Just been chatting with Alena, the hotel owner about the new security barrier . There was a spate of thefts last summer in Vercors by a gang from Grenoble . Thirty four bikes stolen including two from here . She was told that they were ALL 1250GS/GSAs !!!
The gang have since been arrested .
I mentions her dad used to leave his keys in Ducati Hypermotard , and she says it would have been fine as they were only targeting specific GSs!

... Consecutive number plates as well...... means they bought their bikes same day, same dealer...... and remember the Cloggies are born on their bikes......
I read about that gang being arested...think it was even posted on here. France is renowned for bike thefts even on the country locations...sad.........

Just fabulous and my skin has turned a vivid shade of green. She deserves a night or two in the old train station hotel. We watched it on a documentary when they were talking about doing it up. Thanks for inspiration, the V-Strom will be our mode of bimble though.

And the Strom will be perfect . More nimble than a lardy GS, bit like my XADV .
But one you’ve gone that GS tunnel , there’s no turning back

31 degs !!
Would have used my Rokker Cargos instead of waterproof Revolutions if I’d had known we have 12 days of sun and blue skies .
Only rain was 10 minutes over Dartmoor and apart from 30 minutes of fog when climbing out of Picos, we’ve barely seen a cloud .
Forecast was for at least 4/5 days of possibly heavy showers at times !

Pleasant but a tad hot day from Rencurel to Bourges , routing direct avoiding autoroute except for adding in this section of the D995 between waypoints 2 and 3

Then we’ll wander in to town to my favourite Italian , La Scala
