It’s tour on the 500 fortnight

I’ve stopped at a couple of them both inexpensive and good quality.
Likewise, but not that far east. Hotel/Brauerei Blesius Garten in Trier is a favourite, although not as inexpensive as it was...I should stop recommending it.

Think we’re at cross purposes , the link is to a whole group of brewery/hotels. None in Trier though.

that looks interesting - considering a tour of SE Germany next year with Scraggy.

Assuming this place: https://www.goebel-hotels.com/muehlhausen/brauhaus-zum-loewen/

This 2 night package sounds attractive

TIP: BEER TRIP

• 1 x dinner as part of half-board
• 1 x dinner "All about beer"
• 1 x tour of the beer factory
• 2 glasses of beer (0.25 l) for tasting in our restaurant
• 1 souvenir glass to say goodbye

€53 per person in a double room
We stopped there on one of our mid winter trips and it was pretty good hence our return on Wednesday.

There’s some cracking gasthoffes linked to breweries in Germany.

We’ve got a couple of nights in another one in NE Germany next week though I can’t remember exactly where. I’m sure it’ll be ok :augie

Well the common link in all of them is BEER…

ah, I see now. I have ordered their printed brochure so we can sit down with a few beers and stick pins in the map to plan a Spring 2024 tour.

I hope you asked for the English version.

It’s only dots on a map, the rest are mere details and we know details are for lightweights.

Unfortunately we’re sitting under a large canopy outside a bar and this is the forecast for the next couple of hours.

Do we want wet inside or outside?

perhaps I can read German, or at least operate Google Translate rather than just look at the pretty pictures
Possibly, I just went for the easy option and ordered the English version. which is very good.

I‘m pretty sure the fat dude can speak better German than you or at least scream get out of the way, my tank doesn’t steer very well.

A brief maintenance check shows that a) the bike needs a drink of oil and b) the chain is made of nicker elastic. No surprises there so I guess I’ll find out if the supplied toolkit is good enough to adjust the chain :D

It started straight away after a lot of riding in torrential rain then being left standing through two big storms so I’ve no complaints there.

Built for monsoons. As long at it keeps raining you'll be fine.:thumb

Be thankful you're not on a classic Italian bike.

yes, it's when the corroded connectors dry out you get problems as they no longer conduct enough electrons.

So why don’t RE supply the correct tools in the extensive toolkit to adjust the chain?

I could ask why I didn’t check before leaving is another question I could ask but at home I’d use my own tools.

Which tool (or tools) did the curry munchers neglect to provide?
A spanner to fit the larger nut on the rear wheel spindle and the correct size one for the adjusters. The bike has 2 nuts on the spindle, you get a spanner for the smaller size and the adjusters are 12mm so they give you what appear to be 11 and 13mm.

Lack of preparation if you ask me, and a man of your experience should know better . I suppose you will just have to ask ze germans.........
