Today I went out for a ride out a ride on the bike as it was a nice day outside. It ended up going up the A84 from Stirling then on to the A82 and up throw glen coe. Then down the A828 then on to Oban and down the A816. From there it was the A83 to Loch Lomond and down to Glasgow. Just jumped on the motorway back home. Now I will get to the Pont on this post. I have been riding for two years from tomorrow. Every time I go throw glen coe the weather is shit in it. I know I went throw it today when it is still winter but every other time it has been the summer. Today was nice all the way up to it then it started to rain and then it turned to snow that was really fun (not). I feel that it hates me. Anyone else have this with glen coe or any other road.

Always crap going through Glen Coe, plus there's always the idiots on the straights overtaking a truck going uphill in a 1.2l ???? when you're approaching them at perhaps a tad above 60. Um.

It's the Hills y'see - they tend to cause rain to fall. :(

Only been through Glencoe twice and yup both times it pissed down and was freezing cold and blowing a gale :comfort

Didn't really expect much else in the Scottish Highlands though!

Oh yeah and it was the middle of July!!

I've been through at least half a dozen times and the weather has always been beautiful ....

Just pot luck I guess, I've never had bad weather in Scotland,

But I have been to Spain when it rained every day nearly for 10 days.

I've had good and bad weather through Glencoe. As someone else said, it's pot luck but the hills will always force every last drop out of those clouds!

Were you mainly on the plain? :augie

Rain in Glencoe makes it "atmospheric" especially for the photo's, when it doesn't rain it made me appreciate it's splendour even more.

Aye it lashed it down and blew like a bast@rd when I went through it. And my 07' GSA headlight freaked out and LAMPf'd me in the midst of it all :eek

..was still nice though :thumb

I'm supposed to be going with a group of 7 other bikers for an overnight camping extravaganza next Saturday. Damn, hope it's a bit better there by then.:eek Been through twice before and had snow and rain once and lovely day the next time so hopefully I can increase my average this time.:beerjug:

nae such a thing as bad weather up here just the wrong clothing:augie

Aye.. The weather can be funny for me as well..

See

It's known as the "glen of weeping" cos of all the water running into it. Wonder where the water comes from?:augie

Headed South this morning down that way, came North tonight through it again.
Its never boring, is it !
Got into driving the road after some silly stuff at the Erskine bridge.
Introduced (subjected, they would say) my daughter and her fiancée to DSOTM. :driving
Volume up, making progress, bit of wind over the Rannoch summit. :D

Its always a great road when the vans aren't out.
When you catch it nice, you will, take a detour down Glen Etive, its worth it.

+1

I had grey and breezy last Monday. The VERY strong wind on Rannoch Moor was quite scary at times. But but I have been through there in sunshine and it's glorious.

oh - and look out for the "safety" camera van sometimes waiting in a layby. The scenery is so good, it's easy to take your eye off the speedo :augie

About a mile or two South of the gorge today, they have their regular spots, this is a fairly new addition :rob

The place always give's me the shits given the history:eek: Brilliant road though in the right conditions:thumb2
