it IS possible to disable the indicator self-cancel

FFS you lot; pages of drivel about indicators. Again.

Look, if you really don't like them, change them, stop whinging.

Yes its possible, CANBUS or not.

You have a battery on the bike so you can power pretty much anything (within reason of course). Buy a flasher unit. Connect it to the battery. Feed the wires from the indicator bulbs to the flasher unit. Buy a jap style indicator switch and wire it to the flasher unit.

Cheap as chips.

Simple.

wouldn't it be great if you activate the self cancel function when you want it to operate with just a quick push of your thumb :augie

Calm down :comfort , you don't have to read it  , the title of the thread makes it quite clear what it is about therefore allowing you to make an informed choice on whether to read it or not. ;)

Personally, I have found the thread very informative and it has enabled me to have changes made to things that I found mildly annoying. This is exactly what, IMHO, these types of forums are for, sharing information and helping each other get the best out of our bikes.

It is... Which dealer was this, and also what year is your GSA ?

FWIW, Bahnstormer informed me that it was not changeable...

BVM, Stroud. The GSA is June this year; the RT is 3 years old - I think this would apply to all CANBUS equipped bikes, as long as the software was up to date.

Even fkin simpler: Just don't read the thread if you're not interested in the topic...

tw99 and trebor - I offered a valid, cheap solution to all your indicator problems. And no, I haven't read the thread as it just ain't worth reading ! I'm off for a pint. :augie :blast
