Sportsters are great, so long a you embrace the Sportster ethos (minimal, lean)![]()
I have an 883R but I'm not sure how much lean I should be aiming for to embrace this ethos. Isn't it lean that is getting me round corners at the moment or is it centrifugal force where you steer to the hedge, accelerate faster and hey presto you go in the opposite direction. Instinct seems to suggest that if I succeed getting around the corner in question then my lean angle was spot on so what advantage would it be to fit elbow and knee pads and attempt a Marquez. I don't want to look a plonker when up against a Hymenbusha. I have seen a video of a tester on a Moto Guzzi California and he keeps going round the same bend in both directions scraping his footrests each time - why? If he leant less he would save the footrests, get around the corner and have nothing to complain about. Or have I missed the point!

It seems to me you've achieved minimal lean if nothing touched down and you didn't crash![]()

the other good thing about the harley over the 1200 gsa is your not forever checking the for sale section looking for things (crap) to bolt onto your bike to make it more heavy than it allready is ,least with the harley your starting with a really heavy bike in the first place
if you had the time and money have you seen the catalog Just followed a 48 out of Pompey, cool as a penguins anus.....

Here ya go JD..
Are those bars "pegged" as well as clamped? if not, get it done...and the same goes for you too JA...when you go this way.......riding a bike with un-pegged apes with enthusiasm can lead to interesting situations....take it from someone who (now) knows...![]()
