If you can find one, its worth doing a guided trip to the dolomites. We did it a couple of weeks ago and it was very good.
If you are going to Lake Garda this place is worth considering - it's high up, so a little cooler than being down by the lakeside - great views of the Lake. I stayed there a few years ago, not 5* but good enough and great hosts.

Much as I love Scotland, it is not blessed with climate such as that of Lake Garda.
Everything seems so much nicer when you've got the sun on your back!
I will come back, but possibly not on a motorcycle!
