Thanks to your advice, i have placed an offer on a house.

Still in fife, Cowdenbeath.

It does not have a garage , but the garden is big enough to build one.

will be looking for help shortly, and know a good plasterer, and a bricky :D

Cheers
Al

Let me get this right: someone advised you to buy a house in Cowdenbeath. And you took it?

Wander up the High St. you're sure to bump into someone you actually do want to meet.
The war memorial up the steep hill overlooking the High St. Recent generations have enjoyed picking out the lead letters from this granite structure, leaving the names of the war dead looking like J::k Th:ms:on Al:xa:::r Sn:d::n etc. Maybe you can do a skate run down the very steep dangerous footpath after pinching the lead letters.
The Royal Bank of Scotland seems to be the place you'll find all the hang out's of Cowden these days!!
behind the woodside hotel and get on jock morans tits
Fancy a click then head off the High Street and take your pick! Not that there is a lot to choose from the male talent is a bit Naff in Cowdenbeath.
The Fountain - young folks 'disco' on Fridays. Snogathons an essential feature. Bring plenty lippy for re applying.

The simple answer is that "nice place" and "budget" are mutually exclusive - especially since I have an idea of the size of your budget and we've already commiserated about how hard it is to get onto the property ladder.

Fife is considerably cheaper than the Edinburgh area but it would still take something closer to double your budget to get somewhere that might begin to be considered "nice" by folks who are in the income bracket where they can afford to run a new GS and change it for another one every two or three years.

Yes, it's a bummer. However, you might just find that wherever you are, if you have good neighbours and I'm sure there are decent folk in both Cowdenbeath and High Valleyfield, you can be happy there. Good luck with your move....:thumb2

Once im moved, i could alway do a open invite Tosser house warming party.

That should be enough to scar the neds away :blast

There's a lot worse than Cowdenbeath

There's a lot worse than Cowdenbeath, there's some braw hooses there.
