Just a thought
It may be worth it to ask one of your guys "in the appropriate" department just to test the coil - primary and secondary resistance - easy with a simple multimeter - tells you how to do it in the Haynes Manual, plus it should give the appropriate levels in the docs that you got with the coil

I fitted the front coil to my 100GS like this . . .
With a bracket made from angle iron, like this (you don't need both front bolts
) . . . .
Nothing difficult to it

I haven't tried to fit it yet - Will it work with the standard HT leads?
If not I'm going to have to get hold of some replacements rather quick!!
