A web dictionary definition

"an induction coil that converts current from a battery into the high-voltage current required by spark plugs"

You could just cable tie it to start with

aren't you supposed to be teaching the kids, mending their machines or keeping the Headmaster happy!!!!

not buggering about on here

Rob,

Just a thought

It may be worth it to ask one of your guys "in the appropriate" department just to test the coil - primary and secondary resistance - easy with a simple multimeter - tells you how to do it in the Haynes Manual, plus it should give the appropriate levels in the docs that you got with the coil

Good luck

This has got to be the best site for technical advice on the web ( I couldn't understand it all but I get the jest of it) :thumb2

Thanks Kenny - I did not know that you appreciated my advice so much!!!!!

I fitted the front coil to my 100GS like this . . .

With a bracket made from angle iron, like this (you don't need both front bolts :D) . . . .

Nothing difficult to it :thumb2

Bob.

I haven't tried to fit it yet - Will it work with the standard HT leads?
If not I'm going to have to get hold of some replacements rather quick!! :(
