It's it possible to repack the OEM end can?

As above. Bike seemed noisier than I remember. Wondering if the packing has gone? It's only done 36k!

Does your bike have an exhaust valve/flap thing?
It does. I'm going to check it's working tomorrow... But it's more the high speed stuff. Maybe it was always as it is, but I just have this feeling is louder?!!

Done some searching outside the forum. It's looking like there's no packing in these end cans, just baffles. So it's worth the flappy valve or its my head! Will report back!

All oe cans just have the baffles. It's after market straight through cans that have wadding that eventually needs re packing.
I wonder what the insides are made of. It'll they are a metal that could corrode I guess a baffle could have rotted through. I'm quite surprised by how loud my standard can is especially after I de-catted the headers.

I agree with you about the OEM end can. When I first got the bike and rode home I was thinking "blimey, it's a bit noisy!". I'm surprised it ever passed the 'regulations'.

Will be checking the flappy valve later this morning...

Right. Had a look at the flappy valve. I thinks it's all good and working as it should. Some vids below, may need of interest to others.

Valve and interior all look very clean, not sooty in the least, which I guess fits having just done about 1500 miles on wot.

So I'm beginning to think it's in my head. It's just loud!

Did you have panniers on at the time? That can change what you hear in my experience.

Yes. I did. And you could be right I guess. Though they were rammed, so very dense!

Right now I'm thinking it's because of months and no long journeys, so I've forgotten what is like!
