If you follow Mr Bears route use some decent pliers
And don't use scotch locks as they cause more electrical problems than they solve.

If the puncture hole is big you may have issues with the mushroom plugs. With the rat-tails (string) you can just shove more in. Having said that he few punctures I've had the Stop'n'Go + Air-Man pump have worked great.
Soon you will be starting a thread stating that the compressor cuts out after a couple of seconds. You will get replies telling you its BMW's canbus system which is making the compressor cut out. If your lucky you will get a helpful reply advising you buy an additional 12v socket and wire it straight to the battery to avoid the canbus issues. If your even luckier then someone will post a link to such 12v socket and a photo of it fitted...

Cut the live wire..(the infamous rusty pliers photo)...
Insert the fuse connector...
Clamp it down..
Insert supplied fuse..
Connect directly to battery terminals...
Done (I left mine sitting int he tool tray out of the way)...
And then buy an Airman compressor which is nice and small....
Top bloke you must be a mind reader coz my next question was going to be any other alternative quality air compressors and bingo you've done it
Sounds good to me Bungy I've got my autocom stashed in the tool try but have the same set up as you re the tool box

This works for me and zero problems with the TPS monitors. Also used by the police and my tyre fitters were perfectly happy with it. Don't confuse with cheap green stuff suitable only for cycle inner tubes and likely to rot aluminium.
Stop'n Go plug kit and Slime compressor, fitted in the pannier rails toolbox - works for me. I swapped out the aux power socket too and fitted a fusebox in the tooltray wired directly to the battery. I have fixed more punctures in other peoples tyres than I have my own.
Well lads it seems it's a hands down win for the stop n go kit thanks for all the input greatly appreciated just a case of choosing my compressor now !
the compressor that vw cars use is quite good, takes up about the same space as the airman.
