I do like shiny blue header pipes. Can't understand why you would want to rub it off?

I got a vfr at the same time for £7250, did 17k miles on it and 3 trips round europe, one of those trips i proposed to the gf. the bike was not battered but certainly not new condition, perhaps got 2hrs cleaning a month in the 2 yrs i had it, traded in at the same dealer for a fraction under 5k.

I agree with an earlier post, bikes are more for riding than cleaning! i certainly got the depreciation on mine back in fun and eating up the miles, not to mention the memories!

Everyone to their own! I tend to look after my cars and bikes, not a mega-polisher but they pretty well always look "as new" and aren't difficult to keep that way.
I bought a VFR for £4250, sold it 4 years later for £3850, and to a friend who was very happy he was getting a good bike for the money.
When it was launched I bought a Yamaha 600 Diversion for £3300, sold it 2 years later for £2700.
I rarely trade them in though - by the time I'm ready to sell I've usually had a number of people lined up to buy because they know I look after things - I'm also proud that in 30 years of driving/riding, every car or bike I've ever sold has gone to the first person to view it :thumb2 Not decrying anyone who uses and abuses cars bikes trucks whatever, but in my experience looking after them has always been financially beneficial.
