I've a notion re a K1100RS. Is it a bad idea?

This particular bike is a fair distance away. If anyone knows of a K11RS nearer to Embra, can you let me know re trying it for size? Not a test ride, just a sit on and take off and put back on the stand as Jay suggests.
maybe i'm not wise, i bought mine last year in scotland unseen and got it couriered over to NI. get 'er bought!!

1. I'm a tight bugger!
2. The trip to collect the bike is part of the "adventure"! (I've done the trip to NI to collect TWO bikes!)
a trip to north of scotland in Jan was not high on my agenda!! plus the cost of the courier v trains planes and boats was about the same. agree collecting a bike and getting a ferry is good craic.

It's a great idea. I had one when I was younger and didn't notice the weight.
My (then) mechanic delivered it back to me with a smile. "Thought it was an old mans bike, but it goes like stink!!" I loved it.
Went over the Hardnot Pass no problem.
Nice high top gear and big tank.

Have you thought about the K75S Peter?

Lighter than the 1100's, more nimble, unmistakeable sound of a three cylinder. We had the K75RT's alongside the K100RT's and were much favoured by the lads. Almost as quick as to be nothing in it. A real character of a motorcycle.

Not many around but well worth searching for a good one.

Leigh Newbold, top technician at Rainbow Motorcycles ran one for a few years ... we went all over Europe. Another young lady I knew also ran one and could run rings round most sports bike riders :D

The guy whose family owned the BMW franchise here "Hursts"

Toby Hurst's "go to" bike was always a K75 no matter what version he would always chose one of those

Many of the pre owned K75s Ex Demo probably had Toby as the fist customer or maybe 5000 miles of fun for him

Turbine Smooth and rev'd freely and cleaner (No heavy Aux shaft with rubber bushes and large mass to spin up Just a much smaller balance shaft!)

@Posh Pete Any for sale on Gumtree? You could be a prospective purchaser ?? Nudge nudge wink wink :D

I have indeed considered a K75 lads. I recall testing one back in the day - a K75C and being very impressed. They are thin on the ground though and this beastie turned up. On balance, the weight will probably put me off. To be honest, the Himmie will do everything I need including long distance touring. Then again if it was about logic, we'd not ride bikes in the first place!

K75 is underrated I reckon. A better bike than the K100 8v in my view. Can rack up huge mileages.

I used to look after a few K75RT used by despatch riders., all of them had over 300,000 miles on the engines…
But not the clutches, they don’t last as long as K100.,,

In my spares garage I still have a K75 engine that has only done 800 miles :D

As a covering ground bike I really liked my K100/1100LTs... Strangely for a 5 geared bike they gave me the most problems with "unexpected speeding" ...😂 I had a K75 after but I missed the grunt of the bigger bikes... Now with an old Pan I am amazed how advanced the same Aged Pan feels...

Get to the fecking Gym! You're not 90 yet!

Himmy is good for pottering!

But for long haul you can make decent progress with the K75 K100 and still have frugal MPGs
K100RS 16 valve for me was one of the best bikes I've ever had !

Suzuki Burgman 650 has your name written all over it.........😃 I know where there is a lovely one for sale.....

Found one yet?
I cast my eye on this, but three bikes in the garage with no more room dictates. I asked my wife could I put it in the conservatory but she didn't see the funny side.:wife

It's a rare one with low mileage and looking at the sellers other bike (R90CS) he looks to be a proper enthusiast. Even more frustrating, it's only just up the road from me. Bugger.

I saw that when i was after a K Stu. Lovely bike but a tad over priced? Anyway, I ended up doing a swerve and being tempted by @KMD (Keith's) R1150GS on here!
