Picked it up last night. To early to tell but first signs are fab. GSA in black with h/grips abs and engine bars. Seems to have low seat option in all black. What should I go for on the luggage front? What about extras? What tyres are best for road use it has bridgestones on not knobbly. Any clubs or meets in the Bucks area?

Congratulations, Fatboy, i think you have bought one of the best bikes ever, for the real world.

I've just fitted a set of Tobinators to reduce the wind turbulence and can certainly recommend them.

I've got the Metzler Tourance tyres on and feel they are very grippy and secure although I've only used them in the dry so far.

I am sure that other folk on this site will give good advice and tips too.

Hi fatboty, welcome to the site,
Just fitted 020s to mine. if you're using it purely for road use & not worried about changing them every 5/6 k then youl be hard pushed to beat them. I had them on my VFR and are fitted to the hornet as well.
Get a baglux tank cover & bag, very versatile, and will help protect the tank.

youve just bought the best bike on the market. ALthough why you didnt buy the high speed silver version is a mystery....

ABS/servos - frankly are shit

bars - they dont protect much, but they look cool and they are great on long trips to rest the legs on so, what the hell!

I´ll send you a list of the extras I have (remind me if I dont).

Congrats, the Adventure is the bike to have
(even in Black)

My tip would be to get stuck in to the bike and buy the extra's you need, when you need them...and have a bloody good look around, the B*W stuff is good, and very chic, but almost anything can be got elsewhere, and for less , sometimes it's actually better then Bavaria's finest!
Tobinators are a must, IMHO, along with a bigger screen, as are extra lights, but you've probably already found that out!

The Bridgestones won't be with you for long, if you're not going for knobblies the Tourances are every bit as good as they say, stick like shite on a blanket and wear well, I'm forecasting 11000km out of mine, the Bridgestones gave me 8000 (6500 safely).

I'm not sure if Bob means the factory bars are crap, but the H&Bs do a top job in a drop

I pick my new to me Adv up this Sat and am contemplating luggage as well. I think I'll end up going for a 40-50 litre Givi top box and use a set of throw over fabric panniers if i need more space for an awy weekend. Something like an Oxford set should do it.

Happy hunting though and be sure to let me know what luggage option you opt for.

lookin forward to picking my 1150gs up at the w/end after changing from a Kwack ZX9R. I'm wondering whether it's worth getting it chipped as it's already got a Remus can & Y piece on and sounds great! What do you all think?
