Well, I've finally gorn and dun it!! I am soon to be the proud owner of a shiny 1150 GS. I've wanted one fer years, and always said to meself I can't afford one. And then guess what?!!!1 The other day when I was in the BMW dealer drooling over a tasty yellow one, S.H.M.B.O. said "find out the finance details" I said" don't wind me up" She said "I'm not, you can have it" Well you could have knocked me down wiv a feather!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I pick it up on Thursday, YIPPEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!
Bet it throw it down with rain tho'. Still, don't care, its mine all mine, I tell you!!!!!:D

My ex...told me that one day...so before she changed her mind...a loan and an xjr on the road!
6 months later and I was a free man!
another 3 months and I met my new love...a big fat grey bavarian!

one remortgage later and a healthy bank account and an adv sat outside!

Have fun!!!

A happy man:hpbirthda

Well done that man! I did the same a year ago - almost to the day and in Sunny Yeslow too, on the pretext that the MOT for the Triumph would be too expensive! No regrets her e- you enjoy! Take care tho'. Norman

Nice one Banana!!

Better get your tongue in action tonight bud!!

Oop.....sorry

I'll get my coat

Thanks chaps, nice welcome. Paragon - I have already spent many hours, since last Saturday searching this site, looking for al sorts of info. Sad, innit!
I have also mentally spent HUGE sums of money in me head at the Wunderlich annd Touratech sites!!!!! Oh God,its started, its gonna cost me &**^^^&* loads!!!!!!!
Now where's that jacket thingy, the one with the straps, I'm sure its round 'ere somewhere.

Banana........don't do the tarty things first...........ride it for a week or three then sort out the ergonomics........

Odly enuff, apart from probably having to raise the sceen a bit, annd move the bars forward a fraction, it is spot on. I rode a demo from the dealer last year, and that was excellent, no probs. Having come from a K100rs, it feels somewhat different, mind, but we will see. In fact compared to the K, its like riding a fairly tall block of flats!

Admit it 'narna,

you are just as 'lost' as the rest of us, and you havn't even mentioned Vern or MiGSel or Hella or Tobers or Merv or Remus or Garmin or ... or even B & Q.

... open your wallet, and say after me "Help yourself".

My deepest condolences to you, your good lady, and your overdraft :beerjug:

Well done F.B...............;)

It's all true........, that said, you WILL reach the desired state of 'Trickness', eventually.........then, only Counsilling and Cold Turkey will see you through after you stop the Plastic Melt down:P

Enjoy........;)

Flying

welcome. Picked up my new GS two weeks ago and I am a very happy squirrel - quite a change from my airhead (although thats still a fantastic bike).

Agree with the try it and then customize. There are lots of parts I will buy (already have a Tobinator and a tank cover) but when its clear they are needed. Start with the good bit, which is riding it.

Oh dear...

Oh dear, poor man you haven't realy checked how much this is going to cost you have you?? (and don't even think of looking at Vern's site (see the donkey up above) until AFTER christmas...)

do a quick check on Tobinators and you will find all you need to know (until then, they are bits that raise and tilt the screen to reduce turbulance (?sp?)) available from one of the board's members!

BTW - welcome to the gang!

its not ignorance mate - this is a sect - and its always a bit tricky until you learn the lingo. Best explained by Andrew (aka Tobers) at www.stopthebuffetting.com.

Probably not spelt right but google it or look for the user tobers and you´ll find the details. Haven´t fitted it due to my bosses repeated atempts to fire me and my refusal to let go the desk. But looks top quality kit - simple, effective and well made and the service he gives you when you order is really amazingly good. If the shit kickers that provided servcies to my company were ha only half as good.....Anyway, Tobers, Vern, Ricky Kuhn, MiGsel, Bryn god bless them one and all I say.

Nice avatar John.... must have been taken by an expert photographer.... and the chips look lovely.....

Congratulations, on having a great Mrs as well as a great (OK better) bike..:D

As it's nearly 1am on Friday I assume you're either still riding around the streets on it or you're sitting looking at it with a misty look in your eyes!

As has been said, play around and decide what you need for the bike... It doesn't make much difference as you end up buying everything anyway:rolleyes: But it's easier to justify:shoot:

You forgot to mention Hepco & Becker, Cee Baileys, Wudo......:(
