Been brainwashed slowly by a 690 riding mate and joined the Orange (Black) gang

2007 ABS model, FMF pipes, Gobi Panniers and other stuff

Only ridden 60 miles home through a monsoon today - I can report the bike has an eagerness my 660 Tenere was lacking :D and the Gel seat numbed my arse before I got home

Looking forward to putting a few miles on before too long :clap:clap

Rubbish, my 990 is great and as smooth as a 950 as well. It's great what a pair of wire snips will do :D
Enjoy it and don't worry about the 950 owners there just jealous :D and just wish they brought the 990 but orange not black or grey :P

Ha ha ... Enjoy your 990. Mark F (Spanish Pyrenees) is KTM obsessed! I think most of his wardrobe is even orange. :thumb2

If you fancy a b road spank anytime let me know .... :thumb

Hey g00ner, do you mind me asking why you choose not to go for the Tiger as you were considering in an earlier post for replacing your Tenere?

I'm in a similar conundrum as you were in that the XT660 seems so much bike for the money and not sure the Tiger gives enough extra to account for the extra cash. Plus it will probably cost a lot more to maintain that the Yamaha on top.

Thanks in advance.

Hey g00ner,

Bloody nice bike that. I had a 990 and loved it, got a 950 now and bloody love that too!

If you (and indeed Giles) are knocking about don't hesitate to look me up, I'll have a run out with you!!

Here's my steed ...

got a front end like a baboons arse (aka kawasaki versys ) though not doubting how good a bike it is :D

Got me a 525 exc a couple of months ago; have been hooning around the green lanes on it, smiling like a cheshire cat.....enjoy....:D

I've had 950 's' that was from new back in 2003, put over 40k mls on that one until the water pump failiure let coolant into engine oil. Bike was only 20 months old when that happened. Dealer fixed it but never ran same.
Then got the 2010 990, really chuffed with this one until side stand switch failed whilst on holiday in France during a bank hol. This one only had a couple of thou on the clock.
Holiday ruined.
To sum up, Love the bikes and still miss the fun, but KTM offer very poor dealer back up and customer service imo.
Now enjoying a trouble free GS ownership [still miss the fun though].

Sorry Tunner, only just seen your post :blast:blast

Sorry to you too retry, went with the katoom as I intend to do a few rallies etc and the 990's seemed better suited, still rate the 660 though - don't think I appreciated how much while I owned one

Just sold my GS1200 and also gone over to the orange side 990 Adv.
So far so good.
Timtim, always had excellent service and back up at the KTM Centre in Hemel Hempstead Herts when i had a superduke. Bought this bike from them, excellent px price on the gs and the ADV fully serviced, new tyres though the front didnt need changing and came beatifuuly prepared:).
Couldnt really complain about my gs only the seat but a great bike just to clinical for me,needed a bit of excitment as well.

So, let me get this straight, you have owned two KTM Adventures, one of which had ONE problem, the other of which had ONE problem, in TEN years of ownership!!!!

Crikey you must feel really hard done by! :blast
