That came with my 06 R1200GS and I'd like to change it!!

Seriously it's a bit naff, I commute through the BLackwall Tunnel daily and I want something to wake the fookers up!!!

Any recommendation for something that is either a straight swap or with the a relay/wiring change?

Thanks for reading,

JC

Stebel Nautilus is the usual one that peeps go for. I've never bothered with changing mine, though...

+ 1! I tried a stebel magnum first; it was easy to fit but not all that much of an improvement on the original. The Nautilus is the daddy! :thumb

You must be fookin deaf, the Stebel Magnum is loud and will do the trick. Straight replacement for the OEM horn as well, no relays, no space problems.

You might want to do some searches in the 1200 section re the Nautilus. I think you have to use a relay and split the body of the horn in two to get it to fit without clashing with the forks.

The Magnum horn isn't quite a straight replacement, as while you don't need a relay you will either have to chop the BMW connector off or buy the extender from a BMW dealer (or nippy's, I think???)

The Nautilus definately does need a relay, as it draws around about 15 amps when scaring the crap out of little old ladies and blind people.

There's plenty of posts on the custom connector required and how to fit a relay.

I fitted twin Magnums which output the same as the Nautilus - 139db. As they pull 12 amps I fitted a seperate wiring loom with a relay switched from the standard canbus wiring. I opted for the twins as found easier places to fit them on my 1200ADV than Nautilus.

I'm not deaf, it's a scary number of dozy sods in tin cans with the sound system cranked-up. Magnum is loud but nautilus is louder! :aidan

definatly,
my mates got a magnum, i have the nautilus,
mines louder, but there both feckin loud anyway, either will do the trick,
if not, try hornblasters.com(turn the volume up before you click on the link)

i think the dead would hear you then

i know its the 1200n section, but for you 11xx owners, a nautilus fits with no mods, just a little bracket

Thanks for the info on the 1150, got one today to fit. [have one of the "Train" ones on my Horse box and can loosen bowels at 20 paces, its about .0 metre long so would struggle to fit on the GSA!]
