...the cruise control doesn't work when it's in Enduro mode. Makes sense I suppose.

There was a software update last year which changed this to what you have now seen. I guess it was as a result of that (reported) journalist who was riding off-road, standing on the pegs, arms out with cruise control on and had a tank slapper??
