I've just bought an ipad2

Bought my wife one before I came out and she loves it but we have a lot of trouble with our Talktalk wifi when trying to Skype, evidently lots of others have similar problems, it's the only drawback ....

Chaps.. I have an iPad 2 and downloaded ios5 last week... oh i really wish i hadn't, i've had nothing but trouble from it. I love Apple and have done for many years but this at the moment is the worst thing they have produced!!!

Don't do it yet.. wait for the next update.. i've done all of the things on the forums, reboot from new, clear the cache memory etc but i just can't find any way of going back to the previous version.. doesn't look like you can

I really really really really wish I hadn't gone to iOS 5, it's ruined what was a brilliant iPad.

The biggest problem is Safari, it keeps on crashing, can be 3 times in a minute, you are writing a post and then it's crashed before you can send. or just browsing and it closes. It's getting to the point where I'm just not using it. Fecking crap software. Of course it's up to you, but at least I've warned you.

Great machine, shite software. Really pisses me off writing stuff on forums, only for the bastrard thing to dump me out of the program without warning and having to start again.

For over £600, it is a joke that Apple should really get a grip of quicker than they seeem to be doing :mad::mad:
 
is it just posting on forums that has problems, or is it safari generally?

i only ask as i have two ipads and an iphone here all working fine on safari and iOS5, but i use tapatalk for ukgser. maybe i'll have a bash on safari later.

Edit: Had a quick look round, and most likely looking cause I could see was to do with ICloud bookmark sync. Some people have turned this off on iPad and desktops, and the crashing has gone away.

I might further suggest checking that any icloud accounts are set up identically. From recent personal experience, I know it is very easy to create accounts on different machines with different logins, as apple autofills with the wrong info. It can cause all kinds of strang behaviour if that is the case.

Now that could be worth looking into, I do like the general look feel of ios5 it's just the problems crashing in Safari, pages, numbers etc, they all crash:mad:

Just got mine yesterday and love it. Bought it in apple hong kong store and saved the vat. A very generous person collected it and brought it to Dublin.
 
Its this stupid site. Safari (on a Mac) has never worked properly on UKGSer. I've been typing replies and the site drops the page as it can longer confirm you're logged in. I've seen it get confused by simply moving around the sub-forums.

Use tapatalk if youre on iOS and don't pay £12 for something that doesn't work properly. Every other forum is ok with safari, just not here.
