I went to a lovely little dealer in Marbella yesterday
and put a deposit on a segundamano 1200 GS LC.
It's a 1 owner, fully kitted 2013 bike that the owner traded in for a new triple black. He used it for a longish daily commute and some weekend runs so it has high mileage (kilometreage?) but a full service history and a year's warranty.
As I paid the deposit with a credit card it gives me an extra layer of security.
It comes with the 3 boxes, satnav, touratwat engine bars, dynamic, comfort and security packages and an alarm. Thanks to having changed some money over a few weeks ago when the exchange rate was better, I got it for just under £10k
Spanish bureaucracy being what it is, they need to see my flat rental contract before they can register it to me, even though I have a resident card. 1st MOT (IVA) is due at 4 years old, then every 2 years. Road tax depends on where you live: 20 miles difference can mean 20 euros difference in cost
I also have to sort insurance and I have no idea what prices are like down here.
It's a breezy but dry 18c here today and going to stay in mid teens all week (no Adam Johnson jokes, please) so should be good for riding. I hear it's still winter in UK
I'll let you know how I get on with it.
