Please excuse a newbie but According to Wikapedia

"Because Jägermeister has a semi-sweet taste, it is considered a Kräuterlikör (literally “herbal liqueur”).

herbal liqueur. Sounds a bit girly to me. :hide

Interesting first post :augie

If you're interested, do a search on here for a post I recently did (I cannae be bothered masel) for Schwarzwald Teufel, which is also classed as a herbal liqueur. It's 51%. Very girly...

Anyhoo, I take it you're no' a real Scotsman? A real wan wid search an off-sales for Jaegermeister, no' "Wikapedia" :D

Good logic.

And a' the mair Jaeger for us :D

As an aside, Williams (the pears not the manufacturers) schnaps is actually my weapon of choice (in German drinking mode) but since Lidl stopped selling it, it's hard to come by over here. Jaegermeister has sort of become the SS signature tipple thanks to a trip a group o' us had tae Germany last year. If you reckon it's for girls, try necking a dozen or so within an 'oor...:augie

Jaegermeister (and the similarly tasting Underberg) are meant to be drank and savoured after a meal as an aid to digestion (they do work). It's a relatively new marketing ploy to have Jaegers as a means to get rat-arsed on and as a "shot" for international bright young things :beerjug:
