Java Update

WTF is that all about ?

In view of my recent laptop crash, I am now reluctant to download anything right now.

But I keep getting a pop up telling me that a Java Update should be downloaded, whats Java then and should I do it?

Is it a gaming thing them

If so, I really dont know why I have got this, coz I dont do games

So how do I get rid of it without downloading it?

Go to Control Panel/Remove Programmes etc

But many websites use it!!

PS It's Sun Microsystems, so I'd have thought it'd be pretty safe.
