On the 50th anniversary of Jim Clark's first F1 win and the weekend of the Bon Scott Memorial in Kirriemuir, I thought I'd resurrect this wee ride report that I did a while ago.

Here

Hard to believe that it's 7 years ago  It's still one of the most enjoyable days out I've had on my bike :thumb2

Must pop up to Kilmany. Did not know about the statue, so Ta for that Ronnie. Jim Clark was a boyhood idol. Mind seeing him and jackie Stewart doing a birl around the Ingliston racing circuit in the Rover gas turbine car. 1965? Good grief. Ah'll has tae get some pepperies!

Some old forum names on there too...

It was indeed a good wee run Ronno.... :thumb

I'm sure I started the ball rolling for the very first Gathering Of The Clans event on that same run when I was at the Glen Clova Hotel that day. Although that run doesn't seem that long ago, the first GOTC does. And that was the following June

Odd. :nenau Probably because there were a few more GOTCs after the first one but only one Rockstar and Racing Driver run to Kirriemuir?

I saw Jim Clark race at Charterhall in the early 60's, I'm sure one of you will tell me when. I was on leave from my ship.
