Joe Duffys ?

the service guy told me on thursday that the bike section of duffys is moving away from the car showroom.
he did not seem to know when or where they were moving but he did say it would be fairly soon.he did not say why
there seems to be something going on because the customer facing staff are all gone bar dave, john in sales and andrew and paul in service are gone and there are new guys in to replace them.

having said all that i am in the motor trade also and while things are very slow and a lot of garages are getting it very hard at the moment.
duffys is not one of the garages i would worry about, they are a very strong garage.
at the moment they have a used car sale on with between 1000 and 3000 euro of most cars,
going by what i was asked to go from my 06 gs to an 07 gsa there is no sale on bikes though

duffys put out 230 new vehicles for july. if you order a new build, you will have to wait probably 8-10 weeks for delivery. most people will wait until january for their vehicles, hence the down turn in new sales at present.
the government have fooked the trade up again !:spitfire. the vat and vrt changes should have been introduced from january, the government have collected a lot of vat & vrt on the vehicles from then to july. some gxbshxte decides july would be good for the new changes to take effect as everyone in the country would be running out to buy new cars. yes there was some vehicles sold for july and now the rest of the year is a struggle for all garages to keep their head above water.
thankfully i work for skoda and we are doing okay, i feel sorry for the other garages going to the wall.
the government has a lot to answer for and should get away from the LOOKS GOOD ON THE BLACKBOARD syndrom.

I wonder will the coffee continue to be free in the new bike section ? I really hope they dont go as then muddy paddock would be left as the only vendor in the greater dublin area.

could not agree more between the slow down and the guys with no clue who make the laws the motor trade will have a very hard year
hope to many more garages dont have to close

They aren't closing down.

They are just thinking carefully how to spend the ton of cash they are getting from the M50 widening that means they are changing the main entrance...:D

I heard that Pat Keoghs BMW in Limerick were getting a Motorrad franchise...

Hard Times

They better not be don't think I'd get the support in muddy paddocks that I get in Duffy's.

My employer tesco sent me a letter this morning telling me all about the hard times ahead due to competion.
I have been asked to tell all my friends, family and neighbours about the good value that can be had in tesco :jibber :jibber :jibber
Consider yourselves told, get in there and shop for Ireland to protect my shares and help T900 and me buy a new bike next year :D :D
That way I can do my bit for my local dealer :thumb
