Just bought a new bike from Alan Dalziel at John Clarks in Dundee, the whole experience has been excellent ( well apart from handing the money over ! ):D
The service given was first class and very customer led, nothing has been too much trouble including fitting the GPS cables and free delivery to the Highlands............:thumb
I have no reason to doubt the bike servicing / customer service will remain when the service intervals get me to part with some more dosh !!
Its all very easy to complain when we get poor service :nono so I believe good service should be acknowledged.:D
I have no connection with the dealers other than being a satisfied customer.

A satisfied customer is always better to hear about than a disgruntled one so well done AD and John Clarks :thumb2

That aside, where are the pics of the new steed? :nenau

Ronno, the said van ain`t bin yet.............( I wonder if he will be wearing a red suit and hat ? )
regards Shinyface

Sounds like Whatton with his Aerosnatch suit? :nenau

I'll be up next week for a swatch at it (the bike that is.........:augie)
- you should have the tyres polished by then :thumb2

Al :D

I think we've had a very selective perception of Clark's to date, here on UKGSer. It's not for nothing that Alan Dalziel has sold more BMWs through Clark's this year than anyone else in Scotland.

I've always had excellent after sales service from Clark's, even if I do have to deal with Alan in the first place..... Yes, that is a joke, but no worse than the ribbing I'll probably get when I pick my new GS up from the boy wonder himself this coming weekend.

I always felt rather second class citizen whenever me & my bike graced the (car) forecourt at Clarks in Dundee. Little stock and nobody seemed interested in selling me anything even when I spent ages trying on gear. Have not now graced their premises for some years.

What's changed to make them sell so many GS and BMW. Are the part ex-deals and prices better than Motorrad Central?

Mixed views re AD and Clarks. I find he is only interested if he thinks your gonna buy something. Part x prices are a joke. Would agree that they seem to sell the GS by the bucketload, but that cant be hard can it?? People who test ride it sell it to themselves. Mr Dalziel is simply the man who signs you up. Anyway the service and parts dept are fairly good, but overall the BMW experience hasnt been much better than the Honda experience I had previously.

Great news a satisfied a customer:clap

Must admit AD is good at getting bikes can't complain about trade in either got £500 more for my Honda AT than I paid but then again that might be more to do with my buying price:augie

Parts and after service on the other hand :blast Nightmare unless you own an X5 or a Mini

Motorrad central gets all my business from now on, they have probably made more out of my bikes I've bought than Clarkies.

Mind you it could be worse

Calterdon:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Part x prices are a joke.

I think what we'll see through time is that part exchange prices at Clark's are actually more realistic than what people might be offered elsewhere.

The margins on new bike sales for main dealer franchises these days are so small that it's a wonder that we have so many of them in Scotland. I'm not sure how some people manage to stay in business.....:nenau

ditto, they're only attentive to oldies that smell of money:rob, that's when AD's your best friend.

I've bought two bikes from Alan at Clarks

Both times service was excellent

The first was my 1150, which I loved

Then in January this year bought the 1200, which I love even more

Thanks to Jazbee's post in 'Back to the fold' I've just bought an ex-BMW management bike from John Clark Tayside and Alan and Andy (Cromar) were excellent - even handing over the money wasn't too painful!

Great news, glad you got what you wanted and the experience was enjoyable for you. Enjoy the Bike:thumb
NOW.... Commision / Heavy kit discount surely is in order from Alan D?

Continued good service ! John Clarks Tayside

Just had my GT 1200 600 mile service done at Clarks Tayside.Very pleasant experience no hidden "extra`s " only paid for the oil ( not much more than the price of a tank of super unleaded ! ):thumb.
They also fitted an autocom and the headsets to two system 5 `s , all the jobs done with a professional attitude and at least they made you feel like a valued customer.
I also got a new GS to play on for the morning...............:D
Andy ( salesman ) and Brian ( service manager ) have continued the positive approach to my dealings with JC`s and would recommend the dealership, as the saying goes " promises delivered "
Mind you they also got the sale of some goodies from the 08 glossy !

Was inClarks today booking in for yearly service £90. Mr Dalziel quick off the mark when he saw me looking at the new 08 GS. Will have a shot when I leave my one there next week. Also 3 years zero percent finance. Very tempting. How do I tell the better half???

How do I tell the better half???

Och - nae problem. Did Alan not tell you...? That's all part of the service as well. It's the new BMW Motorrad Spousal Information Pack.

Either that or he's just good at persuading women into things that they'd never have thought of themselves......:augie

When he suggested that I change my GS just before Christmas, I said.."she'll never wear it". She said..."bite his hand off". :D
