Had my bike serviced (18,000) in late September. 2009 GSA.
Had it in the garage apart from doing approx. 80 miles or so since then and now.
I ACF'd it, charged it up last night and decided to use it today.
Within a couple of miles, "FUEL" starts appearing on the computer with the yellow triangle "!" and the big countdown begins. OK I thought, she needs fuel, so I fill it up. To the brim.
No dice. The warning is still flashing at me and to be honest, its getting right on my t*ts
Until today, my gauge has always been OK, I've had the odd sudden drop in left-hand fuel markers on the display, but all in all, been happy with it.
I've read all the threads, "use the trip computer, forget the fuel indicator, they're crap, they all do that, its the fuel strips"....
I've also tried disconnecting the battery, doing the TPS reset. No dice.
..I mean, seriously, how can a bike that costs so much money have such a crappy system to measure fuel (and this problem looks to now be a well known problem to BMW)?
Will running a couple of full tanks through it "maybe" correct the problem? Let's see...
I wouldn't care, but I've hardly used this bike since Sept 2010, its been garaged.
Grrrrrr.
