Hi folks,
I have a very annoying judder especially at low to high gear change, in particular, when changing from first to second, there’s a slack then a judder. Does this mean there’s a gearbox issue or missing or worn dampeners. TIA.
R1200gs LC 2013.
 
Clutch plates are worn. The judder at lower speed from low gear to next higher gear is the effect of the torque when the clutch plates grip and slip. Torque is multiplied in lower gears, less in higher gars thus the judder in lower gear changes.

Then again I might be wrong.

That might be the case..........
Our South African master technician ((God, how I hate forgetting names! Apologies to you if he reading this!) you know the one, who was going to build an 800 GS/ST hybrid) has a view, based on an insider comment, that much of the clutch/gearchanging problems arise from end float, prob on the main shaft on which the clutch sits.
I have looked at the Rekluse kit and wondered if it would "absorb" this float and provide a better action. Or not.
Your mileage suggests that it could be worth a try- keep us posted!
