June Meeting 20th

The meet that was not !!!!!!!!

Well, I turned up at 8:30 to a wet car park after leaving a very interesting football match after 20 mins.

One bike, rider just about to leave, and no others.

I gather one other person arrived earlier but had left by then.

Must go to the meetings a week earlier every month, more bikes around then.

Cheers to the other 2 real riders, wet or not. :clap

so please i never made to 30 mile round trip now...
i had a last minute issue at home...and was in two mides weather to turn up or not because the lake of interest towards the meeting here over the last week...
i could have left my home around 8.30 getting there for about 8.50...i could not leave before then because of something else... :spitfire

But from someone who has just join this site and looking to meet up with other GS owners in the north west the seems to be no real interest in ride outs or meeting :( :( thats a shame...
so i'll put my effort else where if people can not even put some effort in or show some intent :thumb .............

good luck guys and girls and know hard fealings
(ps oh i know i can not spell) :thumb

What a waste of time!!

Travelled from Disley in the rain, Missed watching the game with my son, arrived at the windmill at 8pm, one GS in the car park ,mine.
Another GSer arrived as i was leaving at about 8.30-8.45.

Fantastic idea but a bit of a let down. :nono

questions..
1 , Is the Venue a good one ?
2 , Would more people turn up if the was a very short agenda( not formal) :D ?
3 ,is the someone who runs the north west area for gs owners?
4 ,Would a more slightly north venue be better?
5 ,or was it just the world cup

answer on a post card please :D :D :D :D

just a view of mine...you can only take out what you put in..

June Meet - next week ?

There are usually at least 6 people, sometimes 12.

The boring football and the peeeeeing down weather was the reason.

Venue OK as easy to find.

Rushy suggested next week because of the footy.

I will be there. Come again Big E, it is a good meet - honest :thumb

Dont like saying it but

.................... thought so.

I didnt go 'cos of the footie , Daz has just defected to 'the other side' and bought a brand new Daytona 955i for the summer although he still intends to come to the meets with most months as he will hopefully pick up a used 12GS early next year. Silence was in watching the footie. Anyone else?

Ted's still abroad, haven't seen Garry ( Rollo) for a bit , obviously 2 made it. Not sure about everybody else.

We moved the venue from Rhode Heath last year and got a much better turnout. The location seems to suit a lot of people. KTM525 ,sorry friend not sure of your first name, you commented that its 30 mile round trip for you. Why would you want us to move it further away?

Point 2, formal agenda, I would've thought that would only put people off!?

Dont give up on the rideouts yet. Its often just a question of timing for people. I have just spent every weekend for the last 6 mths doing a house up and now the better half has got us booked in for some 'social' engagements almost every weekend in July ( I nabbed the Goodwood weekend though :D ). Also , quite a few (not me :thumb ) have got family commitments which exclude whole weekend trips. i.e. Daz and Annette struggle with babysitters and somebodyelse ;) will soon be a father and will therefore have NO social life whatsover.

Its always nearly impossible to organise a group of people, that why I dont really try, BUT I am sure a couple of us would like to go on a rideout for the day. Its maybe about getting a bit of notice, maybe posting a route , and asking for attendeees. Thats what Ted did and we had a nice group of 5 or six.

Sorry to those who got wet ! I went up to Bolton to watch the footie with my friend & his family before they flew back to the US this morning. At 11pm on the way back the M6 was well flooded and the heavy rain meant that 55ish was max speed in the car even with 2 speed on the wipers

Hopefully I will see you all next month ,

Ian

 :beerjug:

PS Cars are no problem . Loads of us turn up in cars if the weather is shit. I would rather do that than not go at all just 'cos others will take the piss out of me for not riding my bike in shit weather.

Well now we are first names i answer to loads.. But Terry will do :thumb ( not telling you the others) :D

The questions i've posted are ones that i think people should answer...for me 30 mile round trip is not an issues..but only when it's a 50/50 weather folk will turn up and i new i was going to be late..

i do think people should either say YES or NO weather the going ..so folk know where there stand.. :thumb

the is a ride this sunday i will give more detail later tonight on route....but again i'd be open to surgestions when on the route ....because if i'm going out for a day..i wana try and cover 200 miles if i can..plus tea breaks , "take a few pictures OF ME :D :D :D SO you can see how good looking i am....or is that fat"

The north west has loads of people living in it, therefor should have the most going on....question is looks very little to ???

Now Now Ian, I wouldn’t take the piss if you turned up to a bike meet in a car, all sorts of mitigating circumstances. :P :P

Do I need to keep a weekend free for a christening then ;) :thumb

:D :D

I intended to be there, even re-arranged a night out with a female friend to keep Tuesday free.
Sadly, I was late at work, which meant I was late for an appointment, which made me late picking my lad up, so I was late dropping him at his mum's, meaning I didn't get to see my daughter until she came back from training, so I was late getting back home, where I spent five minutes test loading the bike, which turned into 45 minutes, by which time it was 8.30, and I hadn't had my tea, neither had the dog, and I needed a shower, and it was pissing down, and I basically said "Feck it!" at that point.
I was only late at work, 'cos I needed to finish some paperwork off before I bugger off to Switzerland on Friday :D
So see whoever turns up next time :thumb

no no no , do not want a formal meeting.. NO way to much bullshit at work...do not wana bring it home
we could have a few ideas put on he to chat about when at the meeting.

well this is a route for the Sunday run..ok this is the route, ( if you have memory map i'll send it you)

make our way up to :
Broughton (just of M6 M55)
on to the small roads going via
Inglewhite,Oakenclough,Dunsop bridge ( this is the forest of boland area)
Slaidburn
settle
Arncliffe
kettlewell( tea break) and see if the are any of those calendar girls kicking around because this is the area it was shoot..
once there depending on time etc towards Leyburn ,Granton uptowards Arkengarthdale moor,
back down to hawes, Ingleton

the are a few roads we can put in or take out to make it a shorter ride if folk wana get back for the football.

but if we start early enough we could get all this done with out going at pocket rocket pace...
the views and roads on this run are wonderful........the first part of the run going through forest of bowland is great and the roads after give great view..

So come along
and reply in the sunday run topic please :thumb

And just waiting for the invite :D thought it was a Christening :o

No Christening!!!!

There is NO christening due ............. that I know of

So sorry no invite Les. Fancy coming over for a bite to eat instead???

As we have now nearly finished the house redecoration ( oustide still need doing and both bathrooms) we may have a BBQ.

Had thought about inviting yous lot on here . I thought it would be funny to worry the neighbours by having a load of bikes turning up , revving their engines .

I will sort out a date towards the end of August.
