but ill admit my neck didnt enjoy it.

Sorry for not replying before now, just returned from 'Battle of the Clans' sortie.
Found some decent ale some not so decent food...........and the North/South divide seems to be alive and well....... sadly
As it happens both suggested dates are not so bad for me now a three day gastro binge is on the cards. July trip not possible shall be biking around Spain for most of that month. So what's the plan oldrascal, are there enough of us now to make it interesting. I will probably overnight near ferry departure point and depending on time of return travel straight back home...can't afford to lose many more pinkie points........

Sorry about the delay everyone but I was just over in France for a couple of days (bikeless sadly
) to sort out some business issues. Since getting back, I've been going through the PMs and trying to make sense of how many Tossers have a 3-day period free this month and its not obvious that enough people can make it at the same time. 
Its also beginning to look like circumstances and my own time commitment this month are ganging up on me. Because I didn't set a firm and locked-in date for the trip at least a month ago, a certain 'fluidity' has crept into the timing which has now slipped further and further back into the month. So as a result I have come to the conclusion that I will have to call off the trip for this month.
I take full responsiblity for this and will bravely accept a thorough 'kicking' from disappointed mates as well as anyone else who was looking forward to this gastro-bash or who may have foregone another trip for this one. Its a clear lesson to me that any trip needs to have the dates set in stone at least 4 to 6 weeks or more in advance - a fact that I had not appreciated. We all have to juggle so many things (not least assorted SWMBOs and work obligations) that forward planning is a must and either you can make the dates or you can't. Trying to arrange a trip around everyone's free time has proven to be unworkable.
I intend to reschedule this trip on the original 5-day period around August which is a blinding month in France and nowhere near the commonly perceived crowded nightmare of reputation. As long as we steer clear of the obvious holiday destinations, the weather is consistently great and the roads emptier than usual.
I already have 2 GSers privately signed up during August so keep your eyes open for a thread if you manage to get over the disappointment.
Once again, accept my apologies.

It's July already, so that means that the Gastro-Blast is only next month
Any more interest?
Any dates?... firm dates, provisional dates?
I, for one, will need a decent amount of notice... being prime holiday time, I'll have to arrange my workload to fit in with colleagues
