Just bought a 1200GS Rallye LC - problems

Thank you all for your advice and comments. Unfortunately where I bought the bike is 290 miles from home. Do you think I can get this checked under warranty at local dealer? If the fault is found to be with the last service could this be chargeable?

you can take your bike to any BMW motorrad dealer for the warranty work to be done. If the fault was with the last service you'd need to look to recover the costs from the dealer involved but I'd suggest you contact them 1st to let them know you're taking it to another dealer to look at your issues explaining why you're not taking it back to them so they have the opportunity of fixing it 1st, which given the distance involved seems reasonable.

I have the 2017 1200 lc Rallye it’s as smooth as anything and goes like stink with none of the problems you describe
Anakee tyres are a little noisy Get it back and sorted by the dealer

Me too . The only thing I’d recommend is get the down pipes that dump the stupid euro 4 noise valve and then she’s a goer

How dare you come on this forum and intimate that the mighty BMW r1200GS has a fault! Dont you know sir "they all do that"

Every one knows they are the most reliable go any where motorcycle ever made. Advertising never lies. They never corrode, have brilliant paintwork, forks do not come out and never go wrong.

Welcome to the BMW motorcycle appreciation society.

Engineer is our president.

Horses for courses. This thread is not about you. The disappointed new LC owner asked for advice. You may not like the advice but it is advice never less.

I own an LC GSA......... a bit boring if I may add but good. Not brilliant or awesome, just good.

Yeah and it's not about the 1290 either dickhead

I think BMW have now sold about 500,000 of these utterly useless, crap motorcycles :)

Funny you say that; I’m selling mine! :D

Funny that you should revert to personal insults. The option is there, if the op so wish, to sell his GS on and buy something else. Which inevitable will most probably happen. What he buys next will be whatever whenever. As I said, it is advice, he might not take it nor may he like your comments. Nowhere on here have I sang the praises of the 1290. Keep up at the back.

To be fair they ain't the smoothest of bikes, you do get a lot of wind tunnel noise from the front which sounds like your riding a bag of spanners at a certain RPM, ear plugs are your friend on a GS... they make the ride seem much smoother ..but the whole package is utterly brilliant and out of all my Bikes ..its the one i could never part with:inlove

How hard can you make this...Please just take it to your nearest dealer and ask them to fix it, that’s all you have to do, the bike is fully warranted, it doesn’t matter what dealer of even what country as long as it’s a BMW dealer.

Then when you have got it fix for free, please report back and let us all know what was the problem.

Personal insult was the only rational response to your stupid comment
