... From Dreamscreensuk... It seems really good, a good price and well made... UK based so non of that hassle with customs and posting from the other side of the pond...

I've had tons of screens in the past being stupid tall and these guys have been very impressive... I saw it on eBlag while looking for 2nd hand ones...:thumb

Just bought a new screen...

Hello Wrigsby1, Any chance of a picture? How much did it cost? Any contact details for DreamScreen UK? I tried to find them on-line but without success. Thanks. RobA.

Try item number 231445122284...

Clear or tinted...

Good shape and size... I always like to have the screen on as lower setting as possible to keep the buffeting away... The standard did OK at its highest and I do like the slight dip in the middle of the standard screen but I had to keep the seat on the low position which was not so good for 6'5" me...:)

That looks remarkably like a Skidmarx screen :D

http://www.skidmarx.co.uk/bmw/20843-bmw-r1200-rt-2004-flip-up-tall-screen.html

The eBay seller is using the Skidmarx website image, and is in Weymouth as are Skidmarx.

The curious thing is that Skidmarx charge £74.99, and you paid £105.

I have a trade account at Skidmarx, and can get any screen/fairing for less than retail.
They pressed a special batch of +5" screens for the K1100 LT some years back, great service.

Anyone intested in a group buy ?

What's the improvement over the standard screen?

Well spotted... My Northern roots are proud of you...:) I have been upsold as a BM owner it seems for not consulting Skidmarx et al... I have to say I had sort of forgotten about them in BMW land but did buy a similar barn door of a screen from them for a short term owned PC800... It was only one of two screens I have ever owned that was actually too big... Me and the girlie nearly passed out with heatstroke on a 80+ degree run down the M6 a few years ago... Only saved by a mother of all thunderstorms south of Manchester which gave us watercooling...

It is taller and wider, especially near the top... I originally spotted it when watching two 2nd hand screens on the bay... One Wunderlich which had too much interest and was an odd shape... The other was being sold by a bloke with dubious feedback... I think this "Skidmarx" one was the biggest of the lot... Like you say... Good service and good screen... 25%+ off my price for the observant and even more off if you get a few folk together for a group buy...:)

PS Different address so probably someone doing a homer or similar...;)

You are very philosophical - I would be asking how he justifies a mark-up of £30, or 40% over the Skidmarx retail price.

It may well be a local scrote, picking them up at the factory gate without shipping costs of £7.50 per order, adding further profit for them.

Either way, he is taking the p*ss.

There may be a comment...:augie

Personally I don't like the look of it; it is only curved in one plane (like a cylinder) unlike the OE screen which more spherical. I wonder how well it fits the mount on the risers.

I wonder if matey is selling factory seconds or worse still knock offs from the factory?

Hey, Mr Happy... It's fine by me if you don't like it...;)

The standard screen is one of the better ones I have used but it is too short for me to have the seat high... I am tall you see...

A single curve screen still seems to work well... That is "work well" rather than look good and its the same as most of the other tall screens I have ever bought for touring bikes KLT, RRT, GS etc ... Including a rather good Cee Bailey for a V Strom which was a bit more pricey than this...

I have had Aeroflows, Secdems, Skidmarx, et al before...

PS I rode home after fitting it at work in about 5 mins and didn't even use earplugs purposely for the 1st time in years...

It works absolutely spot on even in the hail and sleet I rode home into tonight... Even the RT surprised me...;)

It might be knock off, knock on, etc but it isn't a 2nd... It just seems there is a cheeky seller and I am his semi willing accomplice...;)

Happy biking...

Could be , I may be getting one at the weekend - an RT not a screen :thumb

For Skidmarx £75 its an even better deal but if you are reasonably under my 6'5" you may find the STD screen fine...

Personally I'd rather have a knock off than a factory second .

All being well I will get it tomorrow . Only 6 ft here so maybe they'll be no need. Test ride at weekend so shall know by then :beerjug:

You'll probably be fine... On the highest setting it was acceptable for me with the seat set low... That in itself is a first and the 11/1150 screen was shite at any setting... The GS screens laughably shite...

I work in auto parts and I expect he was just being cheeky with a decent mark up and a separate bit of company marketing... The extra £30 makes a good profit if you x it the 700+ of his feedback... The cash part hasn't bothered me in the slightest, I think he needs to use his own pics however as the screens have no logo...

Chopper H has shot down his future sales from this thread for one which is ironic as I started the thread to highlight the screen...:)

I went for a short ride and sure it will be fine as is. Can't believe how much lighter it feels compared to 1100/1150s ! Much nicer bike wish I had got one long ago.
