Just can't get those KB small enough?

Hi
I use Irfanview but even with that i am struggling to get a picture to 90 pixel size and is only 6KB?

Is there a simple step way of doing this as ijust downsize the pixels but hope for the best with KB.
Even cropping does not help.
Is there a programme i can just say 'right i want a 90 pixel 6kb size from this 1.2mb picture?

Just took a 1024 x 768 screen dump and resized to 90 x 90 pixels in Irfan, saved as jpg at 90% quality and ended up with a 4kb file.... Just play around with the quality settings when you save. Should be able to go pretty low on a small pic like that. Always helps to sharpen slightly after reducing too.

Forgot to mention above to lower your DPI to 72 when you reduce if it's only a screen display. Saves a few bytes.
