Time & tide wait for no man and everything must come to an end! :fiddle

And with the new 1200LC in the garage I would just like to list all the problems I encountered on my 2 R1200GS's over 7 painful years.

55 Plate R1200GS - 100% reliability, never failed to start, 1 rear light cluster.

2010 R1200GS - 100% reliability, never failed to start, 1 front headlight bulb.

Total cost for 2 bikes over 7 years (excluding consumables) = £62.50 :thumby:

and how many miles did they cover?

Both bikes were purchased 2nd hand, but I knew the short history of both.

Combined total of both bikes was just short of 50,000 miles.

I still have the new (still in sealed bag) fuel pump controller that rode pillion for 7 years.

Great bikes, especially the twin cam ... Sad to see that bike go! :beerjug:

Feel your pain , sold my GSA TC yesterday and have this feeling in the pit of my stomach that I sold the wrong bike

Went back to the GSA TC after having an LC...just love it.

I can see why!

I test rode the WC for 2 hours, took it back and did the deed.

The 50 mile ride back on my twin cam turned into 140 miles of bliss.
So smooth, solid and just the best gearbox of any bike I have ever had.

But somehow it just seemed right to end it there, with great memories of my 1200 days.

I do like the WC, even if it does lack the heart & soul of a proper GS ... it is a stonkingly good machine. :thumby:

I wished I had got my arse into gear in the summer and moved another bike on, leaving room in the garage for the 2 1200s.

I'm going to enjoy the new bike & it's warranty & allow the wallet to heal - But I can see another twin cam as a keeper alongside a modern machine in the future. :thumby:
