And it's rather nice...

Me zip broke in my old jacket last week so just had to go out and buy some more bike kit

Picked up the Cruise Jacket from the local Hein Kericke store

Got one of those in January, great jacket and well worth the money. :D

Has anyone got any experience with these jackets for more than 2 years... still working? My Belstaff one is falling into pieces and I'm looking for a "lifetime jacket"... :)

Don't think the Cruise has been out for 2 years, but it got a seriously good review in a recent Ride mag test and any Hein Gericke gear I have had has always been top notch.

Fair point re product life. I've always had good respect for H-G stuff... however, I had that for Belstaff too, so I'm being a bit careful. :)

I've just got one too :thumb Seems well made so far.Is also waterproof ( guess how I found out). Not as warm as my old Dianese but v.good so far.Pockets a bit fiddly but happy with it to date. :clap

Cruise

Ive got the cruise jacket and trousers, T-Boned a clio in it last year (sorry i didnt see you on that fe**ing great 1150 adv) and the kit stood up brilliantly. I'm still wearing it now with just a few scuffs/friction burns on the material. It's really warm mostly wear a t-shirt underneath except when it's 0 and under and no damp patches yet. :)

Got a Cruise

Bought one of these last month, did 950 miles in Scotland in 4 days, about 850 of those were in heavy rain. Jacket was excellent, the labarynth (excuse the spelling) neck cover is excellent in the cold and wet. One of the two outer waterproof pockets leaked a bit, but the rain was unreal. I have had 3 Dainese goretex jackets in the past, none of which performed as well against the rain as this baby. No complaints about the warmth, even in sleet conditions. Only my old Dainese Europa jacket was warmer (but leaked in the arm creases), although this had a unique alu-foil backing to the lining. Hand on heart, probably the best £250 I have ever spent on bike gear.

Purchased the trousers when they first came out to replace a 5year old touareg ones. The leg vents were great when things warmed up in town. Picked up the Jacket a couple months later, then through the winter rain and snow without question. I like the way you can remove the storm collar, plus I took the inter liner out today, which lightens things up and makes the vent zips even more controllable. :thumb

So that's more votes for the H-G kit... Excellent! I'd rather spend £250 than £750 if I can... There's a shedloads of  in £500 :thumb  :eek :clap

I've got the jacket and trousers, had them when they first came out last year.

Good gear but watch the zips on the cuffs, they can ride over the fabric and they then can break in half. Happened to mine but they happliy replaced it.

If you upgrade the armour to the softer stuff when you buy it they discount it and keep the standard armour.

I've had Rukka gear too and much as it is good I have loads of leaks, sorted out under warranty mind you, too expensive IMO.

Fancy an AeroStitch next I think.
