And my 07 12000GS no longer burbles on over run :(:(:(

But the fuel consumption seems to be better :D

Dealer advised that a software upgrade was needed (took them 7 1/2 hours to complete the service :( )

They say a further upgrade is in the offing shortly to sort out the fuel gauge inaccuracies.

Anyone else missing the over run burble?

Hopefully they didn't charge you 7.5 hours labour for a service that should take no more than 2.5!

This over run burbling your talking about, is it when you switch down a gear and it sounds like its back firing a bit?? mine does that, what is it??

Usually it's the engine burning unspent fuel vapour post cylinder.

My Yamaha FZ1 used to growl like a wounded animal changing down!!:eek

Used to scare pedestrians silly!! :D

so basically it is "back firing" in a way? I like it! does it sound better with a aftermarket exhaust on?? I only have the standard one on.

Damn, I don't want them to take off my overrun popping :thedummy I'll just enjoy the next 2000 miles before the next service then I suppose, unless I get something orange before then. Shhhh.

Dunno the technical side of it, but yes, it sounds MUCH better with an aftermarket exhaust on (well, some may argue that it gets annoying after a while, but to me it sounds lovely!).

Where did you get the service done- did you use Lind in Norwich ? Do you mind me asking what the 6k cost ?

Got my 6000 service done last week (4th August). £115.08 + VAT= £135.22:D

Dealer said something along the lines that it was a new BMUU pricing policy.

Fuel guage appears to be working a lot more accurately now. "Burble" on over run still there, but not as pronounced as before.

Where did you get the bike serviced, and was it a combined 6000 and annual service?

Solidback,

My bike was serviced at John Clarks in Dundee. Service was just(?) a 6000 service (bike only 4 months old). Oil change, valve check, software update, etc. No brake fluid change, which I think is the only differance between a 6000 and an annual service.
