Just ordered a new R1200RT

Highly recommend the new Z8's.
Ask the dealer what he would charge to swap the tyres. I think my dealer charged me £80-.

If it comes with crappy BT021 tyres, change them at the earliest opportunity - it'll transform the handling :thumb2

+1 they are totally rubbish - see my thread on this subject. I have ridden my RT with Mich PR3's and did 1300 miles on a K16GT with Metz Z8's and like both. If I were buying again I would go for the PR3 for the feel they give.

Lucky enough to get to try most of the tyres on offer at work - current favourites Dunlop Roadsmart 2. Agree about the 012's being the worst of choices.:beerjug:

One more night and I pick up my new RT. It really doesn't matter how old you get you still have that lovely feeling of warm anticipation about a new bike (well I do and I'm really old) :rob

Ordered a Fender extender and Easy park from NN and thanks to Stonehenge have a set of Helibars risers. Cannons are sorting the Garmin 660 mount etc. so should be all set to enjoy my new bike.

The weather looks like it may be kind to me but even if its hissing down she will be in my garage tomorrow night.

I'll post up some pictures to share my PJ with you.

Thanks again everyone for your help and advice :thumb2

Very nice.:thumb You don't look very excited though:comfort:D

OH NO, youv made a massive mistake , send it back IMMEDIATELY. The top box isnt colour matched.:JB

That looks good from either angle mate. With regard to the tyres, see if they'll do what Balderston's did for me: at the first service, they changed the BT-021s for Mich PR3s, but gave me a very decent trade in on the 21s. From memory, I only ended up paying 80-odd quid for the new tyres.

Anyway, enjoy that lovely bike. :D

Thanks guys :beerjug: Bridgestone:blast but will tear them up then replace them :thumb2

Lovely Bike, Health to enjoy :beerjug: Regarding the Bridgestones, that's what mine came with and I honestly don't know what all the fuss is about. I am up to 2k miles now and they are fine and cause me no concern even out on days like today riding in a monsoon with mud all over the Devon roads.
Strange thing is, for the first time ever I am pissed off with tyres on a bike: my Guzzi Cali has worn out the Front and back Metzelers it came with in less than 3000 miles to the point where the front is barely legal and the back is probably illegal.

I enjoy making progress and whilst the bike handled OK two up, it didn't turn in very well solo. By 3k they were on the way out and by 3.5k it was sliding around all over the place.

I fitted BT- 023 as they were all Strathern Tyres in Crieff had in stock and I needed new tyres to get home from a funeral in Perth. They've completely transformed the handling and it turns into corners solo like a GS or VFR now :thumb2
