Just ordered my RT LE this afternoon!

KMD, you are right. And the GS has given me over 50,000 miles of fun, ranging from W Sahara to Syria and Jordan - and earlier this year, across to Armenia and Georgia - without any dramas and only one puncture (a slow puncture in Bosnia earlier this year). I reckon it's got another 50k in it no bother!

Yep, similar, the old 1150 has given me 55,000 so far and I almost feel guilty putting it into semi retirement next to the 12. She's not done yet mind, just taken the wheels to have some nice new Michelin PR4's fitted. I like the new bike, but there's something about the old 1150.

Many congrats,
If you are going to use the RT on any roads with a whiff of salt, you could do worse than cough up £65 and get all year biker to do their ACF 50 treatment on it. These bike cost a lot of money and unfortunately due to more EU regs, paint can only be water based and the manufacturing process does not allow them to protect powder coated parts after the surfaces have been machined.
Enjoy the new bike, took mine on a 2000 mike trip to Motorrad days in Garmisch and the bike was superb especially on the twistes ID dynamic mode

Thanks Karlread. Although I am an ACF50 fan, and kept my electraglide ( now sold) bathed in it, I have instead arranged for the RT to have 'nano coating ' before delivery. I saw the guys doing this on an XR and was impressed by what they told me.

I found the most effective coating for my RT was a warm dry garage from Nov to April. Enjoy your new bike :thumb2

Well my new to me 07 reg RT is being given the full ACF50 treatment tomorrow at Barnstormer's when they sort out 3 recalls. My first BMW that I intend to keep for years. :thumb2
