Not often they give stuff away. I'm on my third 550 all replaced (at my expense) for various faults, though I did (through their incompetence) get a free map upgrade last time.
I had a series (three, ISTR) of 2610, likelwise rplaced for faults and at my cost.
Garmin tech support is good because it needs to be.
If they spent as much time on making their products work properly as they do on guarding their maps we'd all be better off.
