Just read this thread, think Garmin deserve some credit where it's due

i've always found its been a pain in the arse to get any map updates onto the 660 I've got... I'm even hesitant to update despite having lifetime mapping.....

Saying that whenever I've resorted to ringing Garmin about it , the customer service is great..... freephone calls as well :thumb2
 
Not often they give stuff away. I'm on my third 550 all replaced (at my expense) for various faults, though I did (through their incompetence) get a free map upgrade last time.

I had a series (three, ISTR) of 2610, likelwise rplaced for faults and at my cost.

Garmin tech support is good because it needs to be.

If they spent as much time on making their products work properly as they do on guarding their maps we'd all be better off.
