Hi all,
I´ve just installed a K&N and a pair of Brisk plugs on my 1150.
I tried it's in a small ride and it looks like that runs much better:
Sounds better, engine runs smoth, more acceleration, revs up easily, etc. I neet to do a larger ride to evaluate better, but the first impression is good. Does anybody had the same experience??

I haven't tried a K&N but I did fit Splitfire Platinum plugs which are very similar to Brisk. I certainly did notice a difference initially but that might have been because I had put new plugs in rather than specifically Splitfire plugs. The biggest difference was putting in a y-piece.

K&N seems the next logical step although I'd be loathe to do it if the ignition needed remapping. Any idea if it does?

Iv'e been using this same combination for 18 months now and it is as you say, the plugs last very well.

I've just orderd a K+N from nippy norman for my 2002 GS1150. I must admit that I'm not too certain if any alterations have to be made to the fuel or ignition system. I'm running standard silencer with remus 'Y' piece. I was under the impression that it was a straight forward fit and that the on board electronics etc; automatically compensated. Advice please.

IMPORTANT QUESTIONS

I am happy to know that plugs and filters are running well...
Before realy upgrade the perfomance I (and not only) still have couple of doubgths:

- What do you do with the Lambda sensor when mount Y piece???
- When mounting Y piece is needed any tunning to the engine (ingnition, injevtion, etc)?
- What is the CCP??

Q1 Lamda Sensor should screw into a hole on the Y-piece. If you don't have that hole you have a cheap y-piece. Don't use it.

Q2 I didn't do anything special.

Q3 CCP = Cat Code Plug. Do a search on this forum for threads about it. It tells the fuel ignition system how to perform for a specific bike configuration.

Thks Mike Cheese. Where did you buy your Y piece? Is it expensive?

Got a remus cat replacement collector box for sale, takes the lambda sensor, wanting £140 +p&p. Y pieces are about £160 new collector box £250.

Thanks Cookie, but whats the CCP? Is it the thing with wires that screws into the 'Y' piece?

no, it's a wire link in a "relay like" box that plugs into the fuse box. loads been written on subject on these forums.

have fun. hours of interesting reading there, with no firm conclusion :)
