K&N replacement filters?

Are the K&N replacement filters really reusable after washing them for 1100GS? Do they give some additional torque/HP and save up some MPG too to prove their high price?

And how easy is the washing procedure, can it be done on travelling (with simple soap or so )?

Hi Margus,
The K&N is really necessary if your heading off on your travels especially in dusty and sandy conditions, as for mpg I did not notice much change

Easy to clean but you need the two small bottle of stuff....one to spray on to dislodge the dirt....then wash off with water...then let it dry off....

The second to re-oil, you may get away with light gear oil sprayed over it if on your travels I guess...
