I am thinking about replacing the front disc for the first time (104,000 miles so far, I do travel rapidly but rely on the motor a lot and anticipation....) and I have seen a GS with a K1100 caliper on it, and note that Timolgra, Judge and Speggo have one fitted. Is it better? what disc should be used? does the master cylinder need replacing?

Have a look at this thread in the GS Mods section on this very subject :thumb

I fitted a k1100 caliper, it improves the brakes, and you keep the existing master cylinder, I still thought the brakes poor so done a twin disk conversion and fitted another K1100 caliper, had to upgrade the master cylinder, there id a modified caliper on fleabay 270244707039 machined and ready to fit
