K1200R

Is there a way to lower the pegs at all?

I love the bike but just find the leg position too cramped.

MV Verholen do some adjustable footrests and I believe Evoluzione have some brackets which lower the pegs by about an inch.

Now fitted

Just added evolutonise filter to my K12R. Make a great difference, and sounds awesome at between 6-8000 revs.:thumb

Just ordered a Sandbar 'dogbone' to raise the ride height, to improve steering. Watch this space for updates:bounce1

Now fitted, a job which took about an hour. It is recomended that you replace the nuts and bolts as they are self tapping lock nuts. Cost abot £8 for the 3.

First impressions are that the bike steers alot more accurately without having to heave it around, so very pleased. Will probabally be even better when i replace the front tyre which is on its way out!!

IMHO a worthwhile exercise, for about the third of the cost of a new torque arm.:clap

I've just bought a K1200R. Very different to the GS but an awesome bike. Agree about the windblast though (even with the cockpit fairing). Need to look at an aftermarket screen.

screen

The MRA Vario screen is the dogs as a replacement. What you lose in the looks dept, is made up for in the 'i can now cruise at 120mph dept!':thumb
I will try and get Tobers to post some pics. My camera is up the shoot

Cheers Richie, much appreciated. I fitted a NN high and wide screen to the GS. Reckon it doesn't quite look as good as the original, but being able to ride to work visor up and cruise visor up more than makes up for it.

Dogbone

The last photo, is of the Sandabar 'DOGBONE'. which raised the ride height by about 14mm, and makes it turn in a bit quicker. Cheaper and more efective method than playing with the torque bar:)

:D In a moment of weakness I PXd my 1150GSA, for a K12 R Sport and Its a fantastic bike on smooth A or B roads, but the GS was far quicker on the bumpy back lanes. Fuel economy and tank range leaves a bit to be desired but these would improve a lot if I rode the bike like a mature bloke should.
It really is a great bike, but I miss the GS.:(

It's all a compramise....

I had a 12GS and yes, it was quicker on the rough stuff, but i think that should be expected. What i missed, was the blistering acceleration:D
As a comparison, i took out a 990 KTM Adventure yesterday, and that was much the same. Great in the twisties, and on rougher roads, but no real acceleration past 70-75mph, and i want MORE!!!!
In an ideal world , i would have a 990 KTM ADV and a K12R or S OR a KTM 990 SuperDuke and an 1150ADV. But i dont have the money at this time for both, so i want something that eats motorway milage at 120+ (:nono !)

That my opinion anyway!!

Richie

Oh Dear!!!

Now have a Akro silencer fitted. Thats sorted out the slight throttle lag and saved about 300kg in weight!!!!
Sounds awesome now.
Will get some pictures up in the near future

I fitted a Remus Powercone to my S, saving 13 pounds in weight in the process (17 standard v 4 Remus). If only I could lose weight so quickly:(
