HOT OF THE PRESS!!!

No deliveries untill next year
K1200S Now delayed untill march 2005.

Anyone heard if/when they will launch the K1200R (the naked K1200S)

And does anyone know of its confirmed that the K1200R will be used to replace the Boxer Cup series. I have seen a few Boxer Cup races, quite entertaining, great sound, 2 dozen boxers at full chat, interspersed by the sound of scraping rocker covers touching down.

why delayed? does it share much technology from the 12gs? eg, the shaft drive etc?

Slightly different engine layout......;) Chocolate covered cams reputedly....:(

All bikes currently in the uk are being recalled to Berlin. Awesome bike though 167BHP Top Speed 184MPH

I had one on order - was told March 2005. Got cold feet though with all bad press so GS1200 on the way instead.

K1200R race series would be great. I've been to Donnington GP for the last two years and dispite constant ribbing from my mate I thought the BMW racing was the best. It certainly had the best sound.

K1200S

Once they iron out the teething problems you can rest assured this bike will be one to watch.

??????Teething Problems ??????

Big Mikey, These ain't teething problems these are fundemental failures of quality control, BMW like many other companies don't manufacture much at all, its all outsourced to other producers, nothing wrong with that as long as the quality control processes are in place, Honda had a similar problem many years ago with the same part, BMW should not have made such an error, its a devastating damnation of the company.
I have ridden the 1200S just before they withdrew it and it is awesome but it has to stay in one piece, I think this has done severe damage to this flagship machine, potential buyers will have been put off and now will await the Honda VFR1200 with its proven RC5 derived motor and all the same trick bits.

NJGT changed to a 1200GS - out of the fire and into the frying pan.

K1200R

Jezza, I was at the Moto GP round at Valencia as a guest of BMW
(I'm a friend of a Boxer Cup rider) and at the end of season party
BMW pushed this in as a replacement for 2005. First round due at Mugello.
