I am considering changing my 2009 K1300S for a K1600 GT SE, has anyone do his already.

My major concern is increase in length and weight.

Hmm,

I have had a 1300S and ridden a 1600GT, VERY different bikes!!

K1300S, very smooth, very quick, very capable, very quick...

K1600GT, well, all the above really so same sort of bike in lots of respects but very different. Did that make sense?

Go and ride a 1600, its the only way you'll know for sure as one mans medicine etc, etc.....

K1300

K1300s....I've had a few, and currently own the 30 yr special edition. I also own a gs Rallye, and an xt500c.... why... because they all do most things fairly well, but some things extremely well. Likewise the k1600. Will it feel as fast as the k1300s, most definitely not. My k1300s actually "feels" faster than my Desmosedicci I used to own (horrible awful piece of italian disaster). Will it be smooth...oh yes, but no smmother than the k1300s. Is it better for a pillion- yes, definitely. The rear is more raised on the 16, allowing the pillion to see better than on the 13. Is it easy to move around on- no, it will feel MUCH heavier than the 13. What would I do? Keep the 13- no thrill or speed rush like it, and put a pan european in the stable for you and the missus to enjoy- it'll only cost you the same as the k13 plus cash to get to the K16. Just my thoughts- hope it helps.

Thanks, thats close to whats happening, im not sure I can cope with the pan european though. For certainly the next twelve months we are keeping the K13S. Will probably change for s 16 in a couple of years for the same reasons as you describe.
