K25 GSA stalling

I guess you are now into testing the continuity of each conductor with a multimeter whilst manipulating to find the culprit.

Enjoy!

Start with the power supply to and from the ignition switch. It could also be the connector at the switch.

Fab result. Check the others while you are in there just in case it's not the only one.

Bendy you were bang on the money! :thumb2 this is the ignition power feed cables, What has taken so long to find was initially the fault seemed to be right inside the loom under the steering head, when in fact this break is closer to the ignition switch. I took the connectors from the switch still couldn't see any breaks until I unwound the loom tape.

Closer inspection it seems to have broken the insulation at some stage, somehow inside the loom tape and moisture had corroded the copper over time until it broke.
I cant believe such a tiny wire can cause completely disable the bike. (actually I can its the ignition switch wire and obviously turns the bike on and off) but has caused me so much stress.

Thank you all for your suggestions especially Bendy Toy :beerjug: much appreciated :thumb Yes will give all the wiring a close inspection before putting it all back together.

While its all stripped down going to give the bike a proper clean.

I do love a happy ending! Result and sounds like a cheap fix too :beerjug:

Nice work and has saved you from considering that under powered' tubed tired Honda thingy that Arsey managed to off load into our pleasant land!

Oh and Arsey (if your lurking) Motorama has a lovely GSA TC just in. 2010 anniversary model. I know the previous owner who kept it well. Shall I ask Darren to hold it for you???????

Was never going to consider the AT :D nice enough looking bike but not quite my cup of tea.

So relieved to have found the culprit considering I was thinking of swapping the whole loom, I can now get the bike back on the road by the weekend \0/

It would most likely be easier and cheaper to pay a bike dealer or vehicle wiring specialist to locate the fault and repair it. Wires are wires. :nenau

I seem to recall some issues with ignition switch wiring becoming chafed on a few 1200's due to tight wiring runs and cable ties.

I helped but here's the true sage of all things canbus.. :)

Erm not sure why I overlooked this, think I was so cock sure the fault was further into the loom, apologies :bow thanks to both of you:beerjug:
